Important Information
Speaker Preview Room
The Speaker Preview room will be in the Harris Suite on level 3. Presenters must check in their presentation at least 4 hours before they are due to present. It will not be possible to check in presentations in the main auditorium. Technical staff will be on-hand in the Speaker Preview room to assist. Presenters do not need to bring a laptop as presentations will be loaded onto a main computer. It is recommended that you bring your presentation on USB Memory Stick, CD or Zip Disk. Only PowerPoint presentations are accepted, there will be no facilities for 35mm slide or overhead projection.
Posters
Please bring your poster with you when you register between 08.00hrs and 10.00hrs on Monday 7 April and we will arrange for it to be put up on the board for you. It will be your responsibility to remove the poster and this should be done before 15.15hrs on Wednesday 9th April. The organisers cannot be held responsible for any posters left after this time. The posters should remain on display throughout the conference.
We would like to invite the authors to stand by their boards during the poster session which will take place from 16.30hrs – 18.30hrs on Monday 7 April so that delegates have the opportunity for discussion with delegates.
Poster boards are 1m wide by 2m high (portrait style). It is recommended that displays do not exceed 1.5m in height. Posters will be located in the Cromdale Suite and a supply of Velcro tabs will be available at the venue. No screws or double-sided adhesive tape will be allowed as they damage the boards.
Special Requirements
Please advise the Conference Organisers (In Conference Ltd) of any special dietary or physical requirements.
Public Transport
Public Transport throughout Edinburgh is of a high quality and inexpensive to use. There are frequent bus services with the local bus companies offering daily, weekly or monthly passes. Tickets between different bus companies are not interchangeable. Tickets for single journeys and day tickets can be purchased on the bus.
Please note that the exact fare is require if purchasing a ticket on a bus, the cost of this should be no more £2.50 (day ticket).
Refreshments and Lunch Arrangements
Please not that refreshments are provided in the Cromdale Hall at the times specified in the programme.
A buffet lunch will also be served on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Cromdale Hall.
Congress Etiquette
Mobile phones should be switched off or placed on ‘silent’ during sessions. Please also respect speakers and other delegates and refrain from talking during presentations.
Internet Access
There will be a small hub of laptops with internet access located in the Cromdale Hall. If you wish to access the internet through your own laptop, please visit the business centre within the EICC where you can purchase a WiFi internet access card for £10 per day. The business centre also has PC’s which you can use for internet access and printing.
Language
The conference language will be English
Cancellation of the Conference
The organisers reserve the right to cancel the conference in case of any unpredictable event.
Insurance
The conference cannot accept any liability for personal injuries or for loss or damage to property belonging to delegates, either during, or as a result of the meeting. Please check the validity of your own personal insurance before travelling.
Visas
Please check with the British Embassy/Consulate concerning visa regulations when making travel arrangements. The conference organisers will provide letters of invitation on request.
